Last night the Regents faced the 11-3 Middleton Cardinals, and although the Cardinals broke out to an early lead and never looked back, the Regents threatened in five of seven innings — stranding a total of eleven runners.
Some high points for the Regents included back-to-back singles by Simon Rosenblum-Larson and John James in the fourth inning and Rock Cates’ clutch RBI single in the fifth.
The bottom of the fifth inning saw the return of Chris Sobek to the mound, making an impressive first appearance since April 26th (when he was hit by a pitch and had a concussion as a result).
Chris gave up no runs, two hits, a walk and had one strikeout in two innings on the hill.
West pitchers — (ip-h-er-bb-so) — Byers (3-7-5-1-1), Shively (1-3-2-1-1), Sobek (2-2-0-1-1)
Next up: the Regents host Janesville Parker tomorrow night.
